Ive micro-rooted Isabel' s hair by taking a single
strand of hair at a time,
(very time consuming but so worth the effort )
and rooted it deep into her scalp .
( Micro- rooted, No unsightly plugs)
I used beautiful top quality brown mohair
from joanna of Pitterpatter Nursery .
its so soft and baby fine,
Isbel's hair has been directionally rooted,
and is held secure in her head with waterproof glue .
I decided to root Isabels hair sparsly,
so her sweet newborn head shows through

I created isabel's life-like skin tone
using Genesis heat set paints, that will never fade,
I used several layers to build up a skin texture
with true depth and translucency.
Isabel is unique
as no two of my reborns will ever be the same
I have no set routine to my painting
so it would impossible for me to replicate her.
Ive pulled out all the stops creating this baby,
taking the time to give her a truly life-like appearance

Ive micro rooted Isabel's eyelashes
in a soft brown colour
to compliment her hair,
they frame her sleepy eyes beautifuly,
Isabel's eyebrows have been meticulously painted
using various shades of heat set paints
then finished in way that makes them
look 3 Dimensional!!

I spent a lot of time perfecting Isabel's skin tones,
not stopping until her skin
actually looked as real as I could possibly make it.
Ive blushed and highlighted all her creases,
and chubby wrinkles,
she has milla spots on her nose
and subtle capilery veins that show beneath her skin
This truly makes
Isabel look as real and Authentic as possible
you wont believe this baby isnt breathing

Isabel's nail beds have been slightly blushed
then ive given her off white transparent nail tips
which I then sealed with a satin varnish,
she has subtle veining that actually looks
as though its beneath her skin.
Ive given her skin blue under- tones
where her skin would naturally be thinnest,
This creates a truly life-like effect,
It makes her skin come alive.
her skin has a plump silky radiance about it,
not dry or chalky as sometimes can occur
when using the Genesis finishing varnish.
Ive taken several of her photos using the macro- setting on my Camera,
so you can hopefully see how much care ive taken to make Isabel
as perfect as is possible.

Isabel has a beautiful jointed cloth body
which ive weighted with soft sqidgy baby fat
(held secure in a seperate bag
so the fat makes no contact with any of the vinyl)
and heavy weight fibre fill
Ive weighted her head with glass beads
and her limbs have been realistically weighted
with ultra fine glass granules, ..
She feels so wonderful to hold,
her head needs suporting
just like a living infant.

Ive Opened Isabel's nose
Then shaded the inside to add depth,
ive also backed her nose with dark felt
then added just a touch
of subtle sheen
to give the appearance of a natural slight moisture.
her lips have been painted
using several different shades of paint
and highlighted in all the right places
I never use a flat colour I shade until the lips have a soft plump look
which gives the illusion
they would be soft to the touch !
